- teamwork
- working hard
Students lose points for:
- bullying
- disrespect

- off task
- talking out of turn

Homework policy
Homework will be given on a nightly basis to reinforce or practice the skills that were taught in class. Each student is responsible for writing these assignments in their assignment notebook daily. It is the responsibility of each student to complete and return homework on the day it is due. If an assignment is not turned in, a missing homework notice will be sent home. After multiple missing assignments, a referral will be sent home. Students may lose free time if their work is not completed.

Reading Logs
3rd grade students are expected to read 20-30 minutes each night as part of their homework assignment. All reading should be recorded in the Reading Log. Please include the title of the book, the author, and the number of minutes read. It is important that students are reading books in their AR zone, or reading more challenging books with an adult or older sibling. I will conference with students to discuss the books they are reading at home each night. They may also be asked to write a summary about their reading. Please encourage your child to read and set a time each night for quiet reading.
Water bottles and Birthday treats
Students may bring a water bottle to school each day to keep at their desk. Water bottles must be filled with water only. Please be sure lids are secure and bottles are not leaking.
Your child may bring in a special birthday item to share with the students in the class if they would like. There are 20 students in our class. Please choose treats other than food. The students love cool pencils, bookmarks, and other fun gadgets!
