It is the responsibility of each student to complete and return homework on its due date. If an assignment is not turned in, a missing homework notice will be sent home and the student will need to sign the “Missing Homework Log”. Students may lose free time if their work is not completed. District 59 Homework Policy
READING LOGS
3rd grade students are expected to read 20-30 minutes each night as part of their homework assignment. All reading should be recorded in their Home Reading Log each week. Please make sure your child fills out the information thoroughly before signing, including the title of the book, the author, and the number of minutes read. It is important that students are reading books in their AR zone, or reading more challenging books with an adult or older sibling. They may also be asked to write a summary about their reading. Please encourage your child to read and set a time each night for quiet reading.
WATER BOTTLES and birthday treats
Students may bring a water bottle to school each day to keep at their desk. Water bottles must be filled with water only.
