Letter from the Principal

Monika

Dear Clearmont Families,

I am thrilled to welcome you to the start of a new school year! Clearmont Elementary is a great place for students and staff to grow and learn. We are located in the heart of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, a northwest suburb of Chicago.

Clearmont proudly serves over 400 students spanning from kindergarten through fifth grade. Student-centered decision-making is embraced by all of our staff members. Our staff believes that the school community should serve as a second family to our students. We consistently strive to create an inclusive environment where all students feel like they belong.

Our school has gained nationwide notoriety in the area of language acquisition as it is the district host site for the Polish Dual Language Program where students develop both social and academic proficiency in two languages. We are currently the only site in the state of Illinois to host this program in the Polish language and have frequent visitors from the Illinois State Board of Education as well as educators from all over the nation to learn more about the success of this program.

Undoubtedly, you will find a unique and progressive educational philosophy and approach in CCSD59 where our vision is built through modern learning, curriculum and instruction, and strategic planning. Our work entails a greater emphasis on the application of new information to prepare students for a future that is very different than our current landscape. Our curriculum is  built upon a combination of foundational skills in reading, writing, and math as well as our nine district outcomes that we believe will be applicable in a modern, changing world:

  • Access, Analyze, and Apply Information
  • Civic and Global Responsibility
  • Collaboration
  • Communicate Effectively
  • Creativity
  • Critical Thinking
  • Determination and Perseverance
  • Problem Solving
  • Self-awareness

I’m looking forward to continuing to building strong and collaborative partnerships with all parents/guardians and community members to continue our great work ahead. My door is always open, so please feel free to visit or contact me anytime at (847) 593-4372 or farfan.monika@ccsd59.org.

Sincerely,
